Universal Access and Human Rights

The theme for this year’s World Aids Day is ‘Universal Access and Human Rights’. HIV and Aids were once something people feared. It was once a big highlight but now it is fading away. Just because there is not a lot of hype about it does not mean the problem has been solved. There is still a lot that needs to be done. Being aware is the most important of all. If one knew the exact reasons as to why and how it is caused and contracted, it will be easier to be aware and careful about it. It is still a serious illness and it is still spreading across the globe.

World Aids Day happens every year on December 1st to spread awareness about HIV and AIDS. This years focus is going to be on universal access and human rights for those who are victims of HIV/AIDS. There is high increasing number of people who are affected because of this disease. It can be directly affecting a person or indirectly affecting the family and or friends of those living with HIV/ADIS.

People who have HIV/AIDS lead a pretty regular life, just like any one else who is not affected by it. They need special medical care, along with healthy life style. They should not be discriminated or ill-treated because of what they have. They, just like anyone else, must be granted equal rights.

Lets spread the word, lets stop AIDS. If you are interested to know more or get involved in some way, contact me at sueghimire@gmail.com
